The GDPR came into force in May 2018 with a blaze of publicity but 18 months on, still many businesses are unclear on how at risk they are from GDPR-related sanctions. e-SIDES has recently held its Final Community Event "Beyond Privacy: Learning Data Ethics - European Big Data Community Forum" in Brussels on November 14th, 2019.

With the aim to complement our research and stimulate further dialogue around responsible Big Data innovation, e-SIDES has collected community opinions related to the debate on how Big Data solutions can be developed and used in a responsible way, paying particular attention to the potential of privacy-preserving technologies.

The Executive Academic Board is the forum in which the training institutes can meet, discuss and implement the academic programme.

Users will now be able to create a domain name in full Greek script, such as ευρώ.ευ (euro.eu). Companies and citizens in the EU are now able to register domain names in non-Latin scripts, namely Greek and Bulgarian, that are used by millions of people. As such, users will have a greater choice of domain names, which will in turn stimulate faster development of electronic commerce and bring about many other benefits.

On 14th November Cyberwatching.eu joined “Cybersecurity For Europe 2019” organized by the CyberSec4Europe project.

CyberSec4Europe is one of the four large scale projects funded by the European Commission’sDG CNECT to pilot the key building blocks of the upcoming regulation, establishing a new European cybersecurity industrial, technology and research competence network and centre.

Progress of the SealedGRID key management mechanism

Farnaz Mohammadi researcher at UPRC continues her secondment at BEIA in Romania. She works on task 5.2 and implements the components for security interoperability in SG. More specifically, the SSO protocols based on the emerging OpenID Connect protocol will be derived and deployed. This will also integrate the trusted computing module by enhancing the security of SSO protocols.
