Values and Ethics in Responsible Technology in Europe

The future of Horizon Europe depends on thinking beyond the current ethical debates. The VIRT-EU project offers a novel practical ethical framework that challenges technology developers to productively engage the uncertainties that the technologies they create can and will produce. Their tools recognize that power negotiations and value conflicts are inherent in technology development. Such recognition is key not only for technology development but also for policy decisions that will shape Europe's future.

The 2nd CYBERWISER.eu Open Pilots Workshop will be held in Lille Grand Palais (France) on 31 January 2020 will give the opportunity to SMEs to define a customised learning path based on their specific needs and train their staff for free and a chance to learn complementary tools and services to support the cybersecurity needs of SMEs coming from other European R&I initiatives.

Trusted Computing

After the successful submission of the D5.1, the seconded researchers continue their research activities on the SealedGRID project. Being more specific, the intensively work to design and implement a trusted computing component that provides assurance of the correct operation of SealedGRID enabled devices. This component will be based on digital certificates and will follow the key management procedures defined in D3.1.

Deliverable D5.1 “First version of the authorization componen”

SealedGRID researchers from UPRC, UMA, BEIA and NEURO finalize the deliverable D5.1 which is part of the WP5 ” Authorization and Security Interoperability “. This deliverable will deliver an initial stable version of the hybrid access control mechanism based on RBAC and ABA. The authentication model is designed and implemented by UPRC and NEURO. The authorization module is implemented by BEIA. The integration of these moduels is provided by NEURO. The deliverable will be released on the next weeks.

UCO Platform's benefits for business: story from the 12 SMEs

After almost a year, 12 SMEs have completed their journey with the UCO Platform developed by the H2020 project UNICORN.

The 12 SMEs from different parts of Europe have been chosen among numerous competitors through the UNICORN validation contest Open Call. The chosen SMEs have been asked to use UCO Platform, while developing their own products, and report their feedback.

SealedGRID Researchers

BEIA researchers continued their secondments in UPRC and had a brief meeting on 16/12/2019 with Davide Ferraris form UMA in UPRC. They discussed issues about the authorization components. Furthermore, the discussed issues about the D5.1 which will be submitted at the end of the month.

ENCASE advanced parental advice tools are being launched at schools

ENCASE along with the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute are arranging for the advanced parental advice tools to be tested by educators and young children in primary and secondary schools in Cyprus.

The pilots will take place at 3 schools in Cyprus (two primary and one secondary), and they are expected to last one week at each school.
