“Athens Calling” For Cyber Security

The future of digital security was discussed by Prof. Christos Xenakis and Demosthenes Economou, Head of Operational Security Unit of ENISA, in the “Athens Calling” broadcast on Greek National Radio (Proto Programma – ERT). The honorable guests, along with the radio host, participated in a two-hour conversation about the risks of the Internet, the digital threats that may endanger our life, how we can protect our online assets and the high demand for Cyber Security experts, not only in Greece but globally.

Cybersecurity Awareness: helping European SMEs understand their risk of sanction under the GDPR

The GDPR Temperature tool will help SMEs to understand where they stand with respect to the GDPR in terms of risks of sanctions. This tool consists of questions about data processing activities, also providing an indication of the company’s risk of sanctions and corresponding actionable recommendations coming directly from ICT Legal Consulting, a law firm with plenty of expertise in the area.

SECONDO at the Safer Internet Day 2020, Cyprus

On February 11th, Cyprus celebrated the Safer Internet Day (SID) 2020 with a major event in Nicosia, which was dedicated to encouraging everyone, from children, young people, parents and teachers, to industry, decision-makers and politicians in Cyprus, to play their part in creating a better Internet. In line with the SID slogan of “Together for a Better Internet”, the aim of this year’s conference was to raise awareness of the Internet’s potential risks to students between 11-16 years old, from all schools in Cyprus.

From research to market: promising outputs are not enough!

A great deal of EU funded projects goes into developing the technological aspects of products and project outputs. However, a corresponding amount of support activity is vital to bring those outputs to market, providing an organic sustainability plan and an exploitation strategy.

Within the context of sustainability and exploitation, ‘Market Readiness’ is defined as the process by which a consortium ensures that their project outputs are ready to go to the market.

TWENTY2X 2020

As operators of a global marketplace, we are now assuming this responsibility in the interest of our employees, customers and partners as well as the city of Hannover and the state of Lower Saxony. We will not stage TWENTY2X as planned in mid-June 2020," said Dr. Andreas Gruchow, Member of the Managing Board, Deutsche Messe AG.

TWENTY2X will premiere from 9 to 11 March 2021 at the exhibition center in Hannover.

SECONDO at the Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience (CISaR) Workshop, Norway

Project Coordinator Prof. Christos Xenakis was invited to participate in the Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience (CISaR) workshop which took place in Gjøvik, Norway, on January 30-31, 2020. The workshop was organized by the Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Research Group of NTNU and brought together research teams across Europe.
