A promo video presents concepts that Vemco is working on in the SCOTT’s WP9: Secure Connected Facilities Management. Among these are using a smartphone as an access card and making a process of inviting guests possibly simple by reducing cumbersome formalities. Some of the presented functionalities are or will be demonstrated in other videos on the SCOTT’s YT channel. The rest will be developed after the project depending on your feedback that would be highly appreciated! Watch it on our YouTube Channel: https://youtu.be/vCBJHsXT9Mg

SCOTT Whitepaper "Security Scan Methodology for Cloud Connected IoT Devices" released!

Within the SCOTT project, the security researchers investigating specifically how to secure connected infrastructures have decided to write a general recommendation methodology for simple good practices. A unique cybersecurity offering and solution for EU Local Public Administrations

"Our project brings a unique cybersecurity offering and solution for EU Local Public Administrations (LPAs) in the area of vulnerabilities and attacks awareness, detection as well as mitigation and (self)healing. While facilitating a deeper understanding of possible vulnerabilities and attacks in their respective organizations, we also allow LPAs to see their IT structure from a completely new angle and reflect upon strengthening and improving their IT defences."

- Juha Röning, CS-AWARE Project Coordinator

The evolving COVID-19 scenario has raised new challenges for companies about how to adequately manage data protection and cybersecurity issues. Indeed, even in particularly difficult situations such as the one we are living through, data protection principles must be respected and, in order to do that, it is very important that companies have a clear idea on which is the correct way to process personal data.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many SMEs to adopt new strategies to cope with the social distancing requirements. One of them, which has been implemented by a huge number of companies, is smart working practice, implying employees working from their own houses. The need to interact within the work team, however, remains. This is the reason why many platforms have become very popular, since they allow communication and exchange without meeting physically. But the increase in the use of such tools brings some risks connected to cybersecurity.

Launch of SWForum.eu, an observatory for software technology excellence in Europe

Press Release:
Pisa, IT, October 2020

SWForum.eu, the recently funded European H2020 project for creating a sustainable forum for stakeholders representing all aspects of software technologies, digital infrastructures, and cybersecurity in Europe, kicked off on 6-7 October 2020 in a virtual consortium meeting.

Over the last few weeks, we have focused on efforts to grow our marketplace. This compendium of products and solutions showcases innovation in cybersecurity from European projects, SMEs and the world of research. For organisations it is an extra opportunity to promote new and emerging services to a European-wide audience, as well as training or awareness-raising activities.

More and more, small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) are relying on digital services to stay competitive in their markets. Often though, they do not realise just how important it is to adequately invest in cybersecurity until they experience a security breach. The unwelcome arrival of COVID-19 means that many companies are now totally dependent on digital services making this investment event more important.
