PROJECT OF THE WEEK - SPECIAL

The SPECIAL (Scalable Policy-awarE linked data arChitecture for prIvacy, trAnsparency and compLiance) project will address the contradiction between Big Data innovation and privacy-aware data protection by proposing a technical solution that makes both of these goals realistic.

Ethical and Societal Implications of Data Science

e-SIDES is a 36-month R&I H2020 project that will be concluding this coming 31st of December 2019. It is an EU-funded Coordination and Support Action (CSA) that will complement the Research and Innovation Actions (RIAs) of the ICT-18 call on privacy-preserving big data technologies by exploring the societal and ethical implications of big data technologies and providing a broad basis and wider context to validate privacy-preserving technologies.

Beyond Privacy: Learning Data Ethics - European Big Data Community Forum 2019: Presentations

e-SIDES has recently held its Final Community Event "Beyond Privacy: Learning Data Ethics - European Big Data Community Forum" in Brussels on November 14th, 2019.

With the aim to complement our research and stimulate further dialogue around responsible Big Data innovation, e-SIDES has collected community opinions related to the debate on how Big Data solutions can be developed and used in a responsible way, paying particular attention to the potential of privacy-preserving technologies.

6th meeting of the European Security & Defence College

The European Security and Defence College is led by the EU Member States. They provide within their meeting format (‘Steering Committee’) political and strategic guidance (‘decision making body’). The Executive Academic Board is the forum in which the training institutes can meet, discuss and implement the academic programme.
