CONCORDIA WOMEN’s AWARDS 

CONCORDIA WOMEN’s AWARDS are established to celebrate women in cybersecurity. The awards aim to recognize outstanding women working in cybersecurity and privacy.

• The prizes intend to encourage young females to continue pursuing their careers in cybersecurity and also praise prominent women for their outstanding contributions and achievements.
• CONCORDIA WOMEN’s AWARDS will cover different areas of the cybersecurity ecosystem, as detailed below.

CONCORDIA WOMEN’s AWARDS on RESEARCH

To promote women at different stages of their careers, the CONCORDIA WOMEN’s prize on Research includes three categories: Master Award, Ph.D. Award and Early Career Award

Female Master Student Award

The prize is intended to recognize young female master students interested in topics related to cybersecurity and privacy.
The award winner will also be invited to participate in the CONCORDIA Open Door event and to give a talk to present their work. CONCORDIA will provide financial support for travel, and accommodation. The award winner will be asked to record a short video presenting her research activities, with the aim to promote the award recipient on CONCORDIA channel.

Eligibility:
At the time of submission, the applicant has to be enrolled at a Master program in a University located in one of the member state of EU or candidate countries to join European Union.

Application:

1. Student project. A short research project description (max. 2 page) to summarize a topic of interest related to cybersecurity and privacy, its open research questions and its impact on our digital life.
2. (optional) Letters of support.
3. A short resume of the applicant.

• Innovative contribution
• Topics Impacts

Female Ph.D. student Award

The prize is intended to recognize outstanding female students doing their Ph.D. on topics related to cybersecurity and privacy.
The award winner will receive financial support to attend the 2021 ENISA-FORTH summer school on Network & Information Security. The award winner will also be invited to participate in the CONCORDIA Open Door event and to give a talk to present her work. CONCORDIA will provide financial support for travel, and accommodation. The award winner will be asked to record a short video presenting her research activities, with the aim to promote the award recipient on CONCORDIA channel.

Eligibility:
At the time of submission, the applicant has to be enrolled at a Ph.D. program in an University located in one of the member state of EU or candidate countries to join European Union.

Application:

1. Student research project. A short project description (max 2 pages) to summarize its research questions and purpose, the proposed approach, the innovative contribution, the main obtained achievements, and its impact on the cybersecurity ecosystem.
2. (optional) Letters of support from Ph.D. supervisor
3. A short resume of the applicant.

Award for Early Career Women Researcher

The prize is intended to recognize outstanding female researchers, at the early stage of their career, working on topics related to cybersecurity and privacy.
The award winner will receive financial support to register to a top-level conference on cybersecurity. The award winner will also be invited to participate in the CONCORDIA Open Door event and and to give a talk to present her work. CONCORDIA will provide financial support for travel and accommodation. The award winner will be asked to record a short video presenting her research activities, with the aim to promote the award recipient on CONCORDIA channel.

Eligibility:
The applicant has to be employed in a research center, industry or University located in one of the member state of EU or candidate countries to join European Union, and no more than 5 years have to be passed from her PhD discussion.

Application:

1. Research project. A short project description (max 2 pages) to summarize its research question and purpose, the proposed approach, the principal obtained achievements, and its impact on the cybersecurity ecosystem.
2. (optional) Letters of support from outstanding researchers.
3. A short resume of the applicant.

Evaluation Criteria:

• Quality of research design
• Impacts and applicability of research

To all the above mentioned CONCORDIA WOMEN’s AWARDS will be applied the following rules.

Award selection committee

The award selection committee consists of 5 cybersecurity experts, among which three are outside the CONCORDIA consortium.

Submission and deadline

All application materials must be submitted via email to womenincyber@concordia-h2020.eu starting from 23th April 2021 to 18th June 2021. All material must be submitted in English, PDF format is preferred. Awards notifications will be delivered by 4 weeks from the deadline.
