CYBERWATCHING_SERVICE OF THE MONTH: JANUARY 2020

The Cyberwatching.eu’s promotes the European Commission funded project results, outputs and news and as a result, increase the project visibility to the Cyberwatching community and European Commission and other affiliations.

The Marketplace is a curated compendium of (1) outputs from completed, EU-funded research projects and (2) products and services offered by providers across Europe.

This consolidated collection of Europe-wide, cybersecurity-related information, products and services offers providers unparalled visibility and accessibility.

We are glad to promote SPECIAL as Cyberwatching.eu "Service of the Month" for January 2020.

The SPECIAL (Scalable Policy-awarE linked data arChitecture for prIvacy, trAnsparency and compLiance) vision is to reconcile Big Data and personal data protection via an innovative data handling solution and a transparency framework. We develop this technology to ease industry’s difficulties with GDPR compliance and to enable respectful treatment of personal information. This introduces new ways of user interaction on data protection, fostering trusted customer relationships. SPECIAL developed technology that:

supports the acquisition of user consent at collection time and the recording of both data and metadata (consent policies, event data, context) according to legislative and user-specified policies;
caters for privacy-aware, secure workflows that include usage/access control, transparency and compliance verification;
demonstrates robustness in terms of performance, scalability and security, all of which are necessary to support privacy preserving innovation in Big Data environments; and
provides a dashboard with feedback and control features that make privacy in Big Data comprehensible and manageable for data subjects, controllers, and processors.

The outcome of the SPECIAL-project will be for the direct benefit of data subjects, as well as business enabler for data controllers. As the project is concluded last December 2019, here are some of the SPECIAL concrete outputs available for the cybersecurity and privacy community and the general public.
