According to the NIST report, "The NICE Cybersecurity Workforce Framework improves communication, about how to identify, recruit, develop, and retain cyber security talent". Employers, recruiters, and guidance counselors, for example, may use the framework as a resource when writing cybersecurity job descriptions, or use it to define with greater clarity the types of IT security professionals in the workforce.

Cyberwatching.eu partner Digital SME Alliance, in collaboration with the European CyberSecurity Organisation (ECSO) has published a Position Paper on "European Cybersecurity Strategy: Fostering the SME ecosystem".

The position paper provides an overview of measures to facilitate SMEs’ cybersecurity ecosystem, and contribute to boosting the offer and the demand for SMEs’ cybersecurity solutions.

European Commission vice-president Andrus Ansip is planning to set up a new cybersecurity centre to improve the competitiveness of European technological products on a global scale.
The new centre would certify the cybersecurity level of technology products, to strengthen EU member states' cyber security standards and capabilities, which according to Ansip are not yet ready to counter major cyber attacks.

On 15th June 2017, CIPSEC project has organized its first Workshop in Villanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, Spain. The workshop was focussed on analysing security and quality demands for the particular critical infrastructures scenario.

The workshop “Security vs Quality: A Dilemma for Critical Infrastructures Management”, has been collocated with the IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Quality of Service (IWQoS, http://iwqos2017.ieee-iwqos.org), a well-established conference in the QoS domain, in June 14, 2017.

On 20/12/2019 the second plenary meeting of SECONDO occurred at the University of Piraeus. The partners were physically or remotely represented. The participants decided how they will proceed with the reference platform architecture and the use cases. Moreover, they decided the utilized candidate technologies.
