Objectives
Silicon Saxony was founded as a network for the semiconductor industry in Dresden in 2000. Since then, this initiative, having started with 20 partners, has grown into a huge network. Today Silicon Saxony is one of Europe‘s most successful trade association for the semiconductor, electronic, microsystems and software industries. The number of members has risen to 320 at present. Silicon Saxony connects manufacturers, suppliers, research institutes, universities and public institutions along the ICT value chain.
In order to create effective and efficient networks the association enables vibrant forums for its members and specialists. These work groups are an essential driving force in the development of new technologies and procedures, e. g. cyber-physical-systems
With the objective of strengthening the sustainability of the business region as a location for information & communication technology (ICT) at both the national and international level, the association sees itself as a communication and cooperation platform for its members.
On the event of the adoption of the draft regulation laying down measures for a high common level of cybersecurity at the institutions, bodies, offices and agencies of the Union, the AI4HealthSec project kicked off a process to provide its opinion.
