Businesses are increasingly going digital. This also increases the likelihood of cyber incidents, especially for micro and small enterprises who often do not have IT-savvy staff – not speak of their own IT-departments. To tackle this challenge, the EU-funded Horizon 2020 project GEIGER is developing a cybersecurity solution, as well as an education programme, for small businesses in Europe.
Tailored especially for micro and small enterprises, the GEIGER educational programme offers a range of learning opportunities and training features for employees, business owners, and persons who are (made) responsible for IT and thus cybersecurity in a small business. Starting from cybersecurity basics, the GEIGER educational programme further covers a Certificate Programme that trains “Certified Security Defenders” to take adequate measures for cybersecurity within their company. Certified Security Defenders learn how to use the GEIGER Toolbox – a software solution that monitors devices within a business for cybersecurity risks and proposes measures for decreasing these risks.
The GEIGER approach offers business opportunities for training providers. Trainings can focus on different target levels: From 'Improving Cybersecurity' for regular staff to 'Taking Responsibility for Cybersecurity', each with the help of the GEIGER Toolbox.
For Education Providers, GEIGER provides access to training materials, apps, learning games and a certification test scheme. The GEIGER education is based on a state-of-the-art curriculum that considers the perspective of small businesses in concern of cybersecurity.
We will organise an info session to present the Certified GEIGER Educational Programme and the benefits of becoming a GEIGER Education Provider.
