A great deal of effort of EU-funded projects goes into developing the technological aspects of products and project outputs. However, a corresponding amount of support activity is vital to bring those outputs to the market, providing an organic sustainability plan and an exploitation strategy.
One of the goals of the Cyberwatching.eu project is to identify ways to cluster (still active) projects with similar aims for their mutual benefit, and support these with targeted support activities (webinars, deep dives, focus events, etc.).
After analysing the “Market and Technology Readiness Level” (MTRL) score of more than 60 projects, the Cyberwatching.eu team has identified that most projects’ weaknesses are related to marketing and ways to improve the effectiveness of such capabilities. This weakness is much more obvious when dealing with manufacturing and/or supply chain and the main reason for this is that projects have neither the resources nor the skills to do it.
This presents a very good opportunity for the project to build upon its experience and activities, promoting the clusters and supporting each cluster’s internal collaboration.
At this point, the Cyberwatching.eu team has identified two (2) groups of active projects that have a similar Marketing Readiness Level (MRL) at this point of their execution (one group has an MRL score of 3-4, and the other group has an MRL score of 5-6-7).
Cyberwatching.eu is planning to have two separate virtual meetings in order to help those projects to improve their marketing capabilities.
Before the meeting, cyberwatching.eu is sending a private invitation to R&I projects to know a bit more about their expectations.
If your project has been invited to this virtual event, make sure to give your feedback to the provided questions. We will be pleased to learn more about your project, which will help us in identifying commonalities that will lead us to support joint actions between projects.

The Cyberwatching.eu project is addressing this issue in several ways through:
The project’s European Project Radar, which maps and positions over 200 EC-funded projects within the bersecurity landscape; |
|
The market and technology readiness level analysis (MTRL) of projects, which are used to understand and assess how close the research and innovation (R&I) projects are to the market; and | |
The project cybersecurity and privacy marketplace providing a platform for projects to showcase their results to a market audience and rub shoulders with start-ups and SMEs innovating in the area. |
There are several contents that Cyberwatching.eu team is offering, which will guide the R&I projects to be more market-ready:
On the event of the adoption of the draft regulation laying down measures for a high common level of cybersecurity at the institutions, bodies, offices and agencies of the Union, the AI4HealthSec project kicked off a process to provide its opinion.
