ECHO Project

The ECHO project (European network of Cybersecurity centres and competence Hub for innovation and Operations) is one of four Pilot projects, launched by the European Commission, to establish and operate a Cybersecurity Competence Network.  Amid keynote presentations from supporting representatives of EU agencies and industry, the project was officially launched at the Conference Hall of the Royal Military Academy of Belgium, on February 25th, 2019.

Presentation of 6 AARC pilots at the FIM4R meeting in Vienna

Registration is open for the Federated Identity Management for Research Collaborations (FIM4R) workshop that will be held on 11 February 2019. The February workshop is the 13th meeting of FIM4R. It will be held in Vienna in conjunction with TIIME (Trust and Internet Identity Meeting in Europe), which runs from 11-14 February. Please select the FIM4R workshop when registering for TIIME.

With 315 million Europeans using the internet each day, the provision of critical services and the functioning of a modern economy are now entirely dependent upon the robustness and safety of cyberspace and its infrastructure. Cyber security attacks are a growing source of threat and concern, while also representing a growing economic opportunity for Europe, with the market predicted to be worth over $100 Billion by 2018 (European Commission). Moreover, cyber attacks in the EU are constantly growing in both their frequency (quintuplicate between 2013 and 2017) and sophistication.

Furthermore, challenges arise to ensure trustworthy AI is used in the solutions.
