The University of Oxford is a globally leading research university regularly in the top three in the world.
Participation within the project will come from two of its leading departments, the Oxford e-Research Centre and the Department of Computer Science.
The Oxford e-Research Centre (OeRC) focuses on research and development of new information technology to enable groups of researchers to tackle problems with increasing scale and complexity, facilitating interdisciplinary research and creating appropriate e-Infrastructure for the support of research. It works with academic and industrial collaborators to enable the use and development of innovative computational and information technology in multidisciplinary collaborations. Through the application of distributed computing and information technologies the Centre aims to accelerate research and allow the exploration of new areas in the sciences, humanities and social sciences, and the development of multidisciplinary collaborations both nationally and internationally.
There is a strong track-record of participation in collaborative projects from the Department of Computer Science, and particularly from the team participating in this project. This group has a long-standing interest in the technologies of trusted computing, particularly in their application to commodity computing applications – first, the concept of computational grids, more recently to cloud computing. This has been extended to cover innovative architectures incorporating mobile devices and embedded systems in the internet of things. The group interacts with industrial partners through projects such as those described below, and also through active membership of the Trusted Computing Group’s Academic Liaison Programme.

Future Events

One of the goals of the project is to identify ways to cluster (still active) projects with similar aims for their mutual benefit, and support these with targeted support activities (webinars, deep dives, focus events, etc.) is organising two (2) separate virtual meetings with two different groups of projects, in order to help them improve their market capabilities.
